Tintype is in good condition – light dust and light mat abrasions – image shows clearly. Brass mat and preserver have some mild patina. The case has some cracks on the edges and flea-bite chips along the edges as well. Hinges are intact and clasp is working. Displays well

A great Tintype Photograph of a Handsome Gentleman in a Union Case
brass mat and preserver and cover glass are present
Case is listed in Berg 3rd as 3-174 Geometric (C)
Case is 1/6th Rectangle, measures approx. 3-1/2″ x 3-7/8″ x 1″ (closed)
Behind the image was a small piece of paper with a name in pencil, however I cannot make it out clearly.
