Vintage photo featuring the Iwo Jima Memorial, or the Marines Corps War Memorial which is located outside the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. The sculpture is based on the photo “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” which was taken during World war II by a news photographer covering the Battle of Iwo Jima. The memorial features and Marines and a Sailor who raised the second flag over Iwo Jima and is dedicated to Marines who have lost their lives. The inscription on the front of the monument says “Uncommon Valor was a Common Virtue”. If you look closely at the people standing next to the statue, you get an idea of just how big it is.

Photo measures 4″ x 5″ and is in good condition showing normal wear and discoloration for its age.
