  • Very Cool Vintage Space Ship X-5 by Masudaya (Modern Toys) of Japan
  • C. 1978
  • One of the toys produced after the ending of the “space frenzy”, this later 1970s toy at least still used tin litho.
  • The design and ltho clearly shows the targeting of a younger consumer base, but hey…it’s still a saucer ship with half decent graphics for display.
  • Powered by 2 “D” batteries (not included).  The wheels need a little adjusting to drive around, as it currently just operates in place (loudly with the noisemaker, I may add)
  • Measures approx. 8″ Diameter x 4-3/4″ Tall
  • Nice addition to any space/robot collection

Description

Good overall condition. Very light scratching to the tin litho with minor loss. Slightly more mild scratching on the plastic dome and plastic undercarriage. Tested with batteries: Toy powers up and spins while lights flash and it makes noise. The wheels don’t really move it around much, so it pretty much operates in place. (could likely be adjusted with a little TLC)
