These rare cars are highly sought after by collectors, as their craftsmanship and limited production stand them out in the world of toys!
Andre Citroen, founder of Citroen Automobiles had the idea to produce detailed tin toy versions of his cars to establish brand recognition and favoritism early in childhood.
Between 1925 and 1940, Citroen worked with French Toy Makers to produce exact replicas of his cars in pressed sheet metal with clockwork mechanisms. Some had electric head lights, functional steering column, doors that opened and interiors with seats.
However when it was realized that when the children were old enough to buy a car they would want a new model, the toy production was ceased.
