From the birth of practical photography around 1839, Humans have been mystified and obsessed with capturing images and essentially, freezing time.
Louis Daguerre developed the first commercially viable photographic process,to which his namesake is applied: The Daguerreotype. From then forth the idea and practice of photography exploded around the world. New forms and mediums were contantly invented, new process tried, new art created.
