Very good overall condition – the image itself has some mild discoloration and very light scratching from age/storage. The card has some mild edge wear and some light scratching from age/storage. Displays very well.



  • Handsome Cabinet Card of Two Young US Navy Apprentice Men
  • The two young sailors pose together proudly in their uniforms.  The Apprentice knot can be seen on their chests
  • The card is marked by I. Katz – 7 Tremont Row, Boston, Mass.
  • The back of the card has some original handwriting (best to my reading) – ” With Regards from G.W. Epperson & E.G. Craig to W.F. Saruen – U.S.N.”
  • Below that is some later writing, faded, that reads “U.S.S. Illinois – Race Boat Team”
  • photograph measures approx. 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ ; card approx. 5-1/4″ x 7-1/4″
