Description
The celluloid pieces show some light discoloration but the images are bright and clear and have no cracks or loss. The brass has moderate patina and scratching. The pin on back is intact but slightly bent. Displays very well.

This large medal measures 4-1/8″ in total length and is 2-3/4″ at the widest point.
This example is by Whitehead & Hoag with the top showing a celluloid rectangular piece surrounded by brass.
The image is of two hands shaking and has lightly printed underneath “Whitehead Hoag Newark NJ”.
Attached by chains to the top pin is a large badge-style piece with a center celluloid button showing the Logo marked “By Hammer And Hand All Arts Do Stand”.
The badge is marked “United We Stand, Divided We Fall, In Union There Is Strength”.
The backs of both pieces are marked “Whitehead & Hoag Co, Newark NJ, Pat Apld For”
