1950’s Japan Tin Friction ToyGreyhound Bus Black Americana Segregation Marusan

$0.00

1950’s: I am offering a Vintage Japanese SAN Greyhound Lines Red Ribbon “World” Bus Friction Toy.  This toy is double trademarked with both Hayashi & Marusan Maker’s Marks.

This bus is in good condition showing bright paint and litho.  The inside of the bus is dusty from display, but each occupant is detailed and interesting.  Of note, consistent with the time period of it’s manufacture, segregated seating arrangement is demonstrated.  All 4 rubber tires are original and intact on the original yellow tin rims.  I have tested the friction mechanism and found it to be in good working order.

The top passenger side on the back of the toy is slightly dented and has a few white paint drips along it.  Back bumper is a little loose but in great shape.  Bottom of bus is in good condition with light scratching.  Bus is missing one of the headlights.

Measures: 12.5″ long.   Both sides of the bus read Greyhound Lines.  The driver’s side near the front has the first Maker’s Mark for Hayashi -H .  The rear of the bus reads Red Ribbon and features the second Maker’s Mark for Marusan – SAN.  The front of the bus reads World, also has the Marusan Maker’s Mark and has a New York plate.

Pictures are for your inspection. Would make a great addition to any toy collection.  Please email me with any questions you may have. I will email all International Winners shipping charges.
