1893 Columbian Exhibition World’s Fair Full Metal Plate Landing of Columbus

  • A very interesting and unusual Piece
  • Although I am not 100% confident, through my research and many discussions with collectors and colleagues I have come to believe that these panels were made as souvenirs / gifts for the 1893 Columbian World Exhibition.
  • It is a copper sheet which was used to make an embossed copy of the famous “Landing of Columbus” Whole Plate Thermoplastic Case (Berg 1-1)
  • Dark bronze finish applied to the front
  • Measures approx. 10-3/8″ x 8-1/2″
  • Nice addition to any World’s Fair or Photography Case Collection!

Good overall condition. Moderate scratching and some light loss to the dark finish from age. Some dings and nicks along the edges. Rear of panel is heavily corroded.
