1892 Letter & Env Mercantile Reference & Bond Boston MA

I am pleased to offer a letter and envelope from the Mercantile Reference and bond Association of Boston dated 1892.  The form letter measures 10 1/4″ X 8″.  It is asking for a reference on a Ms. Alice Etherington.  The letter was sent to a Mr. Hull, and his hand written response is on the back side.  The envelope is 3 5/8″ X 6 3/8″ and has the company return address printed in the corner.  The original two cent stamp is attached and it shows a postmark of Boston, Massachusetts, 1892.

All in good condition considering age.  The envelope shows some small tears.  Both pieces show light staining but display well.
