Vtg Marusan Japan Smoking Grandpa Battery Op. Toy Closed Eyes w/ Box For Restore

I am pleased to offer this Vintage 1950s Smoking Grandpa Battery Operated Tin Toy with its Original Box by Marusan, Japan!  This vintage toy is a rare version of the smoking grandpa, as his eyes are closed.  The toy has a brightly lithographed tin body and fabric clothing.  The toy is powered by two “D” batteries, and when working the pipe will light up, it will rock, and blow smoke.  The toy comes with its original box marked by SAN (Marusan) Japan.

This vintage Smoking Grandpa is in very good cosmetic condition, however it is not functioning.  The battery compartment was found to have loose wires.  The tin shows some light scratching, and the clothes show some light staining from age.  The box show some moderate shelf wear and creasing from storage.
