I am pleased to offer this Vintage Plush/Tin Wind Up Musical Monkey in Barrel Toy from Japan!
This hilarious monkey is constructed of brightly lithographed tin (barrel, guitar, face), and a plush covered tin body.
There is a fixed wind key on the left side, and when wound up the monkey will move his head side-to-side as the arms are pulled by strings.
There are ringing bells on the interior that makes noise as well.
The bottom edge of the barrel is marked “Made in Japan”.

This vintage toy is in good condition, showing some light scratching to the tin and some mild ear to the plush from play wear. The Monkey’s left hand no longer stays on the guitar on it’s own (we held it in place with tape for the photo). The wind up is working, however it feels as if it’s worn and needs lubrication (the toy will function as intended, but consistently stops and requires a nudge…also when winding there is resistance).
