Vintage Photo Album Soldier’s Home Life & Abroad Japan

$74.95

I am pleased to offer this Vintage Photo Album that includes approximately 143 black and white photographs with a few color images that feature a young American soldier’s time at home in Columbus, Indiana and stationed abroad in Japan. Dated early to mid 1950’s throughout. Comes in a large photo album with a black lacquered style wood cover that features hand painted images of Japan, Mt. Fuji and a colorful mother of pearl style bird with bamboo trees; has a tassel binding. Photos are arranged in no particular order and not filled up all on one page throughout; appear in various sizes. Pages come with tissue paper overlay; some pieces are torn or missing from use. Photos are displayed with pink and black corner holders and matted onto pages.

Great images include the solider at work or with policemen and car, his Ford cars and motorcycle, U.S. Air Force planes, air force bases in Columbus and at Mitchell in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, plus Mt. Fuji from a distance and vacationing at Lake Charles, Louisiana. Back of cover features a newspaper clipping of the class of 1957 of Woodbine High School.

Album shows some wear and marks from use overall; brown tint present on the interior edges and tissue from age. Pages are bound well. Visible dust from storage with a slight scent of smoke. Photos are in nice condition overall.

Fantastic diverse images of military life abroad and at home!

Measurements: approx. 15″ inches long x 10-3/4″ inches wide x 1-1/4″ in depth.
