Vintage General Electric Transistor Radio Kit Plug&Case

$29.95

Great vintage General Electric Seven Transistor Radio with portable kit including zip leather case and built-it charger.  This radio measures 6″ X 3 3/4″ X 1 3/4″ and has a blue and white plastic body with front top slide rule tuner and perforated grille.  The right side has two knobs and the left side has a single ear phone plug plus the charger plug.  Unit used two AA batteries or included charger.  Reddish brown leather zippered case folds open to show charger marked “General Electric Model P-15A Charger” and formed compartment for radio.  Charger is built-in to case and is not removable.  Case features two handles and is marked “General Electric, AMC 60-1”.

This radio is in good condition and powers up with batteries or charger.  Sound quality is much better with the batteries; there is a low hum and clicking when the charger is in use but it does function.  Knob work properly.  Body of radio shows cracks on both sides with staining and scratches.  Bottom has corrosion on button that opens battery box.  Interior shows a lot of corrosion.  Carry case has one broken handle and a lot of dust.  Also shows loss of stitching along top allowing zipper to come loose from case.  Charger cord free of frays but stained and dusty.  Unique unit would make a nice addition to any collection.
