I am pleased to offer this Vintage 1950s Alps Mechanical Reading Santa Wind Up Toy! This great Santa toy holds a “Baby Book” with alphabetical pages that have corresponding animals. When you wind the Santa, the magnet on his hand will flip the pages until he reaches the end, then flip back to the beginning and start all over!! His hands and feet are made of lithod tin, and his head is a painted vinyl with cloth beard.
This vintage reading Santa is in great condition, showing some minor staining to the clothes and some light scratching to the tin parts. Wind up mechanism works great, and Santa reads like he should. Feet appear to have been strengthened with adhesive (see photos).
Santa measures approx. 7-1/2″ H.
