I am pleased to offer this Vintage ALPS Japan Battery Operated Smoking and Shoe Shining Panda Tin Toy! This hilarious toy features a tin body with lithographed base and shoes. The panda’s body has a cloth outfit and plush arms/head. The toy is powered by 2 D batteries (not included), and also features a on/off switch on the base. The toy comes with its original ALPS box.
This vintage panda is in good working condition. When tested with batteries, the eyes/pipe light up, the panda lifts his shoe and “shines”, then raises his head to blow out the smoke. The toy needs oil, as it is not currently producing smoke. The battery compartment shows some corrosion. The original box shows some moderate shelf wear, and a tear to the lid.
