I am pleased to offer this Vintage 1945 Lil’ Abner and His Dogpatch Band Tin Windup Toy by Unique Art!
This hilarious toy is constructed of brightly detailed lithographed tin, and is rather large for a tin windup!
The toy features all of the lovable characters from Lil’ Abner! The right side of the toy features a fixed wind key and a stop/go lever.
When the toy is wound, Abner begins to dance as Daisy Mae “plays” the piano, Mammy orchestrates, and Pappy taps the drum!
The back of the piano has a large Unique Art MFG Co. trademark, and is copyrighted 1945.

This Vintage windup is in Beautiful cosmetic condition, showing very light scratching and light dust from display. There are some very small patches of oxidation on Abner. There is mild scratching to the litho in the areas of movement, which is typical from use. The wind up mechanism is strong, and when tested it moved the characters around quickly. Looking over the piece I saw no broken tabs. Pappy is missing his drum sticks (see photos).
