I am pleased to offer this Vintage Marx Moon Mullins and Kayo Handcar Tin Wind up Toy from the 1930s.
Moon Mullins, a tough-guy character created by Frank Willard, debut in June of 1923 in the Chicago Tribune. Intended to be a blue collar rival success to Barney Google, Mullins had a slew of characters such as Kayo his younger brother, Mamie the Cook, and Lord Plushbottom.
This great wind up car features Moon and his kid brother Kayo operating a train rail handcar.
The car itself is a pressed steel while Moon, Kayo, and the pumping lever are tin. Car features a fixed windup key, and mechanism is in strong working condition.
Fantastic addition to any Marx or Vintage Comic Collection!!

This vintage Marx Moon Mullins & Kayo handcar is in good condition for its age, showing some mild scratching to the figures and light scratching to the car. After being wound, and releasing the stop/go lever, the car propels itself quite fast as the two characters pump up and down!! The characters are slightly loose, so when they are moving they are a bit jerky. Will operate on flat surface or O gage rail.
