RARE Original 1939 Marx Flash Gordon Rocket Fighter Tin Wind Up Space Ship VG C9
I am pleased to offer this Rare Original 1939 Marx Flash Gordon Rocket Fighter Tin Wind Up Space Ship Toy!
This is an amazing Marx piece! The large toy measures approx. 12″ Long, and is complete with all Original Parts! The ship is made of brightly lithographed tin, and is predominately red and yellow. There are great graphics of rivets, exhaust pipes, smoke, and even lightning bolts! The Flash Gordon figure aims a space-age gun out of the cockpit with a mask covering his face.
The tail fin is original, and the exhaust port has its original green plastic window. The original flint is present, and produces a lot of sparks! There is also a stop/go lever near the rear.
The Flash Gordon graphics, as well as the King Features Syndicate copyright, identify this as the original 1939 version. The toy was re-released in the 1950s without these graphics.
There is a fixed wind key on the left rear side. The toy was tested and when wound up it races around while shooting lots of sparks out of the back!
This Marx Flash Gordon Rocket Fighter is in absolutely amazing condition! I’d easily give it a C-9! There is some very light scratching to the tin, and one large scratch on the right-side lightning bolt. There is some very light paint loss along the edges. The litho remains beautifully vibrant, making this a grade-A display piece.
