Rare Antique Dual-Frame Union Case w/ Ambrotypes Carpenter Father & Infant Son

I am pleased to offer this Rare Antique Dual-Frame Union Case w/ 2 Ambrotype Photographs!  This beautiful union case is large and has an elegant raised Victorian pattern on the exterior, and holds two Ambrotype photographs.  The left photograph shows a middle-aged man who appears to be a proud carpenter, and the right photograph shows an baby boy in a polka-dot baby gown.  Both ambrotypes are roughly 1/4 plate size, and sit in their original ornate brass mats and protectors.   The set appears to be c. 1890s, as a small paper insert is dated 1892.

This antique Ambrotype set is in very good condition for its age. The ambrotypes show very light dust and minor scratching, and the brass shows some very light patina from age.  The union case shows light scratching and has one chipped corner-see photos.

Union case measures approx. 3-7/8″ W x 4-3/4″ H x 1″ Thick-closed
