  • These rare cars are highly sought after by collectors, as their craftsmanship and limited production stand them out in the world of toys!
  • This particular toy is a large tin version of the famous C-6 Hardtop Coupe, roughly produced between 1929 and 1932.  The car is equipped with opening driver door, and a wind up motor attached to the rear wheels.
  • Motor tested and working, no key included. 
  • Roughly 1/10 Scale, Measures approx. 15″ Long x 6″ W x 7″ H

Andre Citroen, known as the “Henry Ford” of the European Automotive World, was a French engineer and founder of Citroen Automobiles (1919).  He had the idea to produce very detailed tin toys of his cars, as it would establish brand recognition and favoritism early in childhood.  However when it was realized that when the children were old enough to buy a car they would want a new model, the toy production was ceased.

Description

Good overall condition for it’s rarity and age. Paint is original, showing some moderate crazing on the roof, light discoloration and scratching throughout. Driver Door looks like it could have possible touch-ups. Minor loss overall to the paint, more noticeable on the wheels. There are a couple of small repairs: The rear post and the spare are not original, and the spare needs a new nut to hold on in place. There is one wheel missing the exterior nut on the axle, so it can fall off easily. This same wheel had it’s interior repaired with glue. Head-light frame remounted. Looks like it could be equipped with a battery box, as there is a switch and the headlights are ported. Mild smoke smell and dust, could use a good, safe cleaning. Steering tested and works, Wind Up tested and is working (no key).
