Very Good overall condition.Blade shows light typical wear from age, nice gray patina with some fine pitting. The etchings have slightly faded and worn from time, but remain visible.The cross guard, grip, and pommel have a mild ply, and are a little loose.The brass scabbard shows mild scratching and some light loss to the gold finish, and a few minor dents. Stunning display piece!

  • Carved Grip with Wheat grain and Half sunburst pattern
  • Helmet Head Pommel with chain guard.
  • Patriotically Etched double-edge blade with deep central fuller
  • etched with Floral Motifs, eagle, U.S., and crossed cannons.
  • Inscribed N.P. Ames on ricasso (more inscription underneath cross guard)
  • Original engraved & gilt scabbard.
  • Blade: 31-1/2″ x 1-3/16″ .  Total Length: 38-3/8″
