Bradley & Hubbard Cast Iron Bookends John Alden Priscilla Pilgrims Mayflower

This is a fabulous pair of vintage bookends that would look wonderful on display!

They were made by Bradley & Hubbard (BH) and are painted cast iron. One bookend features a pilgrim woman and has “Priscilla” on the base, the other features a pilgrim man and has “John Alden” on the base.

Both pilgrims are standing in the grass underneath a tree, there are also flowers growing in the grass.

Each bookend measures 5 7/8″ tall x 3 3/4″ wide, the base is 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. Base has green felt bottom.

A bit of history about the pilgrims featured on the bookends-

John Alden is often referred to as the first person from the Mayflower to step onto Plymouth Rock, he was one of the first settlers of Plymouth Colony. Priscilla Mullins was also on the Mayflower, she and John Alden married after arriving in Plymouth Colony, they were the third couple to wed there.

Bookends are in good condition with a very nice patina for a great vintage look. You can also still see some of the paint or stain underneath the patina. Both bookends have the “B & H” stamp on the back.
