I am pleased to offer an antique Victorian deep photo frame measuring 13-1/2″ X 11-3/4″ X 2-5/8″.
This piece features a carved wood frame with black and gold detailing. There is a separate wooden back piece with an 8″ X 6″ oval cutout with hand-carved detailing.
There is a piece of glass present and another piece of thin wood that covers the back. The photo in the frame is a tintype measuring 5-1/2″ X 4″.
The image shows a young boy in light check pants and a light jacket. The boys cheeks appear to be lightly tinted pink. It is a full-length pose, and the boy has one arm resting on a covered table.
The piece is taped to the back of a paper mat. Hand written on the back of the mat is “Mr. Glover, $2.00”. The frame and back are held with small nails, and there is a long wire hanger attached to the back of the frame.
In good condition considering age. The photo is nice with a clear image. The frame back is loose and needs to be reattached. The frame itself is free of any large chips but does show some light scratches and a few small dings. The thinner wooden back piece has a large crack down the center and wear on the edges. The glass piece has a few chips on the edges but is free of cracks. Needs cleaned but still displays well.
