Atq Original Charles Eisenmann CDV Photograph The Murray Midgets Sideshow Circus

$0.00

I am pleased to offer this Antique Original Charles Eisenmann CDV Photograph of the Famous Murray Midgets! The midgets were billed a triplets (although they were simply brothers) at P.T. Barnum’s American Museum and while touring the United States in the late 1800s.  This original CDV photograph shows the three brothers with their mother.  The CDV was taken by the famous Charles Eisenmann, a photographer from the Bowery district in New York City.

Eisenmann became quite popular when in the late 1880s over Victorian society’s fascination of genetic abnormalities. He began photographing circus people, which was widely received due to the popularity of the dime museums and the PT Barnum circus in New York.

This antique CDV photograph is in very good condition for its age, showing some light scratching a a few very small stains from age.  The card shows some light edge wear as well.  The image has great clarity.
