  • I am pleased to offer this Great Unique Antique Cast Iron Whale Flensing Blade
  • Likely Early 1800s, somehow used to trim blubber for lamp oil.
  • Knife is black cast iron; features a long narrow tang and a slightly curved tip
  • Blades are slightly dull from age, but do retain an edge 
  • Sheath features a side opening with slits for fastening on top and sides; currently has no ropes or clasps.
  • Measurements: approx. knife 20-1/2″ inches long x 3-1/4″ inches wide; sheath 21-1/2″ long x 5″ inches wide.
