Good overall condition. The chest retains most of its original paint on the wood, and all of its cast iron mountings. The paint is heavily worn on the lid, and along the edges (typical for a chest that was used frequently). There are some large cracks to the wood on the lid, There are also sporadic termite holes on the piece (more visible on the underside.)The cast iron piece show moderate oxidation. The original Lock is working, and comes with the key.
