Antique c. 1920s Tin Wind Up Whirligig Clown w/ Propeller George Levy? Germany

I am pleased to offer this Antique c.1920s German Tin Wind Up Whirligig Clown Toy! This hilarious toy is made of lithographed tin, and is shaped as a silly clown man “balancing” a spinning propeller on his nose.  There is a fixed wind key in the center of his body.  On the bottom near the rear left shoe the toy is marked “Made in Germany”.  Although unmarked, the toy strongly resembles those produced by George Levy (Gely toys).

This antique tin toy is in fair condition, showing some mild scratching to the body and some warping to the paint on the face and coat.  The wind up will wind, however it does not release and the propeller does not spin.

Measures approx. 9″ Tall x 1-1/4″ W x 1-3/4″ Deep
