Antique 1930s J. Chein Barnacle Bill the Sailor Tin Windup Walker Toy

$0.00

I am pleased to offer this Antique 1930s Barnacle Bill The Sailor Tin Windup Toy by J. Chein!  Barnacle Bill was a character from an old drinking song which inspired a Betty Boop cartoon, 2 Films, and also was used as the recurring theme for Bluto in Popeye the Sailor.  This toy is made of brightly lithographed tin, and features a fixed wind key on the back. The toy is unmarked, however it is a known production of Chein. When wound, Bill with rapidly shuffle around!

This antique Barnacle Bill is in very good condition for its age, showing some mild scratching and a few spots of oxidation from age.  The scratching is mostly visible on the feet, arms, neck. There are a few tabs have been bent.  The wind up mechanism is working strong, and when wound tight the toy functions as intended.
