Description
Great overall condition for vintage display. Moderate patina and some loss to the original bronze finish. No cracks or breaks seen. Very commanding presence. Iron screw posts on the back are intact, show some mild oxidation.
American Line Eagle Shield Vintage Cast White Metal Mounting Wall Sign 7.75″
- Very interesting and atypical Cast American Eagle Mount
- Spread Wings with claws grasping large shield with embossed “AMERICAN” striped diagonally across
- Appears to be cast from some kind of white metal/alloy, non-ferrous, mildly soft
- two 1/4″ iron bolt posts mounted on the back (one has a chip)
- No markings or stampings
- Could possibly be related to the American Line (1871-1932), Largest American shipping company of its time.
- Would look great mounted to any number of things, Great Patriotic presence
- Measures approx. 7-3/4″ W x 3-3/4″ H x 2-1/8″ Deep
- Posts spaced approx. 5-1/8″
- Great addition to any collection!
