The photograph itself is in good condition, showing some mild overall wear from age/storage. There is a small tear on the bottom center edge. The card has seen better days, and shows heavy wear and a missing bottom left corner. It would be easy to trim down the card and make the photograph display better – however, we don’t believe in altering our antiques, and leave them AS IS for their new owners to decide.

  • These handsome and fit young men pose together on deck holding oars and the a flag.  Most are wearing matching shirts with “1904” on them.
  • The flag they are holding up has “USS Illinois” on the right side.
  • The back of the card is marked ” U.S.S. Illinois – 1904 – Rowing Team”
  • no other markings are present
  • photograph measures approx. 8″ x 6″ ; card approx. 12″ x 10″
