I am very pleased to offer up this very rare and fine piece of English history!
Here we have an Early 20th century Royal Engineers Busby Hat with it’s original Tin Helmet Box!
This stunning hat is in excellent condition, and appears to have been box kept for most of its existence!
There is a large brass insignia with a removable plume of coarse hair, a leather chin strap, animal skin lined interior,fur lined exterior, and a blue cloth bag along one side.
Busby measures approx. 7-1/4″ H in the front, 8″ high in the back.
That hat is approx. a size 7-1/4 to 7-3/8 (Large)

This antique Busby is in excellent condition for its age, showing some very minor wear to the leather strap and animal skin interior from light use. The fur on the exterior is remarkable. The original tin box seems to have taken the brunt of the wear from age, showing heavy scratching and oxidation.
