1940’s Girls Children’s Handmade Flannel Skirt Dress

I am pleased to offer a vintage girls dress dating to the late 1930’s or early 1940’s.  This item is of ivory flannel with an attached white cotton band at the top.  It features a satin stitch scallop design with satin dots along the bottom.  There is a 6″ slit in the back at the top.  It was made as either a sleeveless dress or as a floor length skirt.  It measures 26″ in length and is 8″ across the top when lying flat.

This item is in good condition considering age but does show a lot of wear.  There is a long rip in the top band on the back side as well as staining and loose stitching.  The flannel also shows staining with some dark marks and a few small holes.  The button or loop closure on the back is missing.  Still displays well.
