1858 1/9th Plate Tintype Photograph Young Smirking Girl Illinois

$0.00

I am pleased to offer this Antique 1858 1/9 Plate Early Tintype Photograph!  This great example of an early tintype (tintypes became popular in the US about 1853) shows a saucy young lady smirking at the camera. Her cheeks and her jewelery were hand-tinted.  The photograph comes in its original flat brass mat and protector.

The photograph comes in an antique union-style case that has an elegant exterior pattern, and a lovely red velvet pillow inside the lid. The paper behind the photograph is marked “August 1858 Salisbury, Illinois”.
