  • Type: Ferrotype aka Tintype w/ brass mat, preserver and glass
  • Subject: Unidentified Young Union Soldier Poses sitting, arm resting on small table.  Appears to be a Private.  He wears a pinky ring on this hand.  His buttons and shirt trim are gilt accented.  The table cloth and his cheeks have very faint tinting.
  • Case:  Eagle and Shield (Berg 4-15  Rare).  Underneath the photograph: exposed wood is marked “21/1862”

Description

Excellent Condition. Image shows minor wear from age, with a few tiny specks of loss and minor mat abrasion. Preserver has a broken corner and dark patina. Mat has minor patina. Case is in exceptional condition, with some mild wear to the exterior leather, spine intact, wood case walls show slight separation. Clasp intact. See photos!
