Vintage 1945 Cast Aluminum Jolly Starkie Mechanical Bank England Black Americana

$225.00

I am pleased to offer this Vintage Aluminum Jolly Black Sonny Boy with Hat Starkie Toy Mechanical Coin Bank.

This is a unique piece of history, and reminds us of a very different time!

Manufactured by Thomas Ashworth of England; this bank has you place a coin in his hand, and with a push of the lever on the back of his arm the boy raises his arm and swallows the coin as his eyes roll down, tongue flips in, and ears rotate forward!

The body is a two-piece casting with fixed eyes and the hand being a two-piece casting as well.

This particular bank is set aside from other similar banks by the boy’s moving ears and hat.

The bottom of the bank features a Aluminum plate with holes.

The firm Thomas Ashworth and Co. is one of the most successful ever founded in Burnley and has given generations of Burnley people full employment.

Measures approx. 7-1/4″ H x 5″ W x 5″ Deep
