Eisenmann Midgets CDV Photograph Major Littlefinger Wife Oddity Circus

$0.00

I am pleased to offer this Antique Late-1800s Eisenmann CDV Photograph of the Famous Midget Major Littlefinger & his Wife! Major Littlefinger was billed as “Smaller than Tom Thumb” at P.T. Barnum’s American Museum and while touring the United States in the late 1800s.

This original CDV photograph shows Littlefinger with his wife at Ages 26 & 25.  The CDV was taken by the famous Charles Eisenmann, a photographer from the Bowery district in New York City.

Eisenmann’s work, which dates from the Victorian-era “Gilded Age” (1870-1890), focused almost exclusively on the “freaks” of the circuses, sideshows, and living museums of New York’s Bowery area.

He began photographing circus people, which was widely received due to the popularity of the dime museums and the PT Barnum circus in New York.

Measures approx. 2-7/16″ W x 4-1/16″ H
