1878 American Reference Book Manual Of Facts Hurst & Co

Wonderful antique reference book titled American Reference Book – A Manual Of Facts.  Features 86 numbered pages with facts up to approximately 1878.  “A full chronological history of the United States; the public lands and all laws relating to them; everything about the constitution, debt, revenue, productions, wealth, population, railroads, exemption, interest, insolvent, and assignment statutes to which is added valuable information about the rulers, debts, and production of various nations and a concise but perfect list of mythological and classical names”.  Published by Hurst & Co, 122 Nassau Street, and is undated.  Softcover piece measures 7″ X 4 3/4″ and shows numerous charts and graphs of information covering all aspects of Government and life at the time.  Includes charts of canals, Government debt, Armies of the World, and even salary scales of branches of the U.S. Military.  A very interesting read.

This book is in great condition considering age.  Covers show wear but gold gilt lettering is still bright.  Back cover is creased.  Pages have aged in color but all are tightly bound and free of tears.  The are a few pencil markings in the book but otherwise clean.  This unique piece would be a fine addition to any collection.
