  • Very Nice Pair of Civl War era Tintypes 
  • Both photos are of whom I believe to be the same young man
  • Left Photos show the young man in civilian attire, tinted cheeks
  • Right photos shows the young man wearing his uniform hat, which looks to have the emblem of the New Hampshire Volunteers.  Tinted Cheeks, bowtie, and shirt with gilt accented buttons and watch chain.  The photo also has a very nice patriotic Eagle themed brass mat
  • Tintypes come in a nice (partially repaired) Thermoplastic Union Case, listed in Berg as 3-89 Geometric.  Partial Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Label remains

Description

The non-uniform tintype shows some light scratching and dust, moderate patina to the preserver. The Uniform tintype shows heavy scratching and some staining, moderate patina on the mat & preserver. The union case shows some mild chipping along the edges, and the top & bottom rails on the uniform side have been repaired with glue. LP&C Label remains partially intact.
