I am pleased to offer this Antique Littlefield & Parsons Geometric Thermoplastic Union Case! This wonderful case has an elegant geometric pattern on both sides. The case retains its original manufacturers label:
“Littlefield, Parsons, & Co. Manufacturers of Daguerreotype Cases. L., P., & Co., are the sole proprietors and only legal manufacturers of union cases with the embracing riveted hinge. Patented October 14, 1856, and April 21, 1857.”
The left photo is on violet glass, and has a dark contrast. The right photograph is on normal glass. The left photo has its original ornate brass and nonpareil mat and preserver, however it is missing the glass and the preserver has detached at a corner. The right has the original preserver, nonpareil mat, and glass.
These antique ambrotypes are in fair condition. The left shows heavy scratching, and the right shows some mild dust and light scratching.
The union case show some mild scratching and 3 mild cracks along the top edge.
Case Measures approx. 3-1/4″ W x 3-3/4″ H x 7/8″ Thick
