  • Very nice contrasted and focused portrait of a young man, slightly off right eye.
  • Original brass mat, preserver, and glass.  Preserver, glass and dag remain in original seal.
  • 1/6th Plate wood & leather case, geometric.
  • Inside of case is marked “Truman M. Gower  Lewiston May25, 1856”  There is also a small lock of hair.
  • Lewiston is probably reference to Lewiston, Maine
  • Great addition to your collection!

Description

Good overall condition. The dag remains sealed with its original tape. The image shows some moderate spotting throughout, and some interesting discoloration along the edges of the mat. The brass preserver shows some light patina. The leather case has a detached cover, and shows some moderate wear on the exterior.
