1957 Large Photo Silent Night Chapel Oberndorf Austria

$5.95

I am pleased to offer a large black and white photo featuring the Silent Night Chapel in Oberndorf, Austria.  This image was taken by a member of the military stationed in Germany in December of 1957.  It measures 10 3/4″ X 7 1/4″.

About 20 kilometers north of Salzburg in the village of Oberndorf, the Silent Night Chapel marks the place where the beloved Christmas carol “Silent Night” was first performed on Christmas Eve 1818.  From a small parish church in Tyrol, this simple Christmas carol conquered the world.  To this day it has been translated into about 300 languages and dialects around the globe

In good condition with a clear image.  There is light staining throughout the front and back as well as wear along the edges but the piece still displays well.
